I'm glad that it is free for personal use because it has to be the easiest program to set up a ftp or http server. This blows IIS and Apache out of the water when it comes to simplicity. I had a friend that needed a large file off of my ftp server and the speeds of ftp are regulated at my college so I quickly set up a password protected http server to the file he needed. I could not believe that I set up a http server under a minute, try that on apache. I can't wait for the ability to run as a service in WinNT. "NETFile FTP / HTTP Server fulfills in my need to be able to download files from my office location.
My office blocks all access to external FTP servers.
Installed at my home computer NETFile provides access to all the files I need at my office by using a standard browser.
I also gave my friends access to the server so I can share my files with them.
Advanced users logon to the FTP server while less advanced users use the HTTP server.
It has an easy to use user interface. I had it up and running in just a few minutes.
Though it has all the security options I need.
I tried several other programs but I liked NetFile most.
So NetFile serves as a web server, a secure file server via HTTP and FTP server.
All-in-one application. Very convenient!
